摘　　要：《老残游记》在英语世界经历了作品的英语翻译、中国文学史类英语著述中有关作品的一般性介绍、文本的英语研究等多种跨文化传播形式。它们合力提升了作品在英语世界的传播范围与接受效果。《老残游记》的英语翻译为英语世界的读者与研究者提供了直接的文本阅读依据,而中国文学史类英语著述中有关《老残游记》的简要介绍则有有助于英语世界对于作品背景与内容的初步了解。两者构成了作品在英语世界跨文化传播进程中的重要一环。《老残游记》的英语研究为作品思想内容与艺术成就的多角度解读提供了"他者"的参照视角,反映出英语世界的研究者对于作者与作品跨文化阐释的独特立场,更是作品在英语世界传播进程中逐步深化的重要体现。In the English world,The Travels of Lao Can has undergone a variety of cross-cultural communication forms,such as English translation of works,general introduction in English works concerning Chinese literary history,and the English Research of the text.They work together to enhance the scope and reception of the works in the English world.The English translation of the novel provides readers and researchers in the English world with a direct text reading basis,while a brief introduction of the book in the English works concerning Chinese literary history helps the English world to have a preliminary understanding of the background and content of the novel.Both of them constitute an important link in the process of intercultural communication in the English-speaking world.The English study of The Travels of Lao Can provides an"other"perspective for the multi-perspective interpretation of the work’s ideological content and artistic achievements,which reflects the unique position of English researchers on the cross-cultural interpretation of the author and the novel and it is also an important embodiment of the gradual deepening of the spreading of the book in the English world.
