摘 要:唱词作为一种璀璨的民间艺术文化,经常穿插于各种文学创作之中,在中国特色文化中占有重要的一席之地,非常值得学者们进行深入研究。鉴于此,本文拟以顺应论为理论依据,对莫言小说《生死疲劳》及其英译的唱词进行具体探究,研究发现译者葛浩文在翻译唱词时,会在语音、词汇、句法等语言层面做出一些顺应的处理,以达到中英两种语言之间的有效融合;在文内衔接、文化交际等语境层面成功转换,实现不同语言、文化之间的交流;在整个翻译过程中动态顺应贯穿始终,译者还考虑到受众所处时空维度、接受能力的不同而适当采用了省译的方法,从而确保译文能够为目标读者所接受。As a part of splendid folk art culture,folk songs are often interspersed with various literary creations and occupy an important position in the culture with Chinese characteristics,which is worthy of in-depth study by scholars.This paper intends to conduct a specific study on the folk songs of Mo Yan’s novel Life and Death are Wearing Me Out and its English translation under the guideline of adaptation theory.The findings indicate that,in order to achieve effective integration between English and Chinese,Howard Goldblatt makes some adaptions at the phonetic,vocabulary,and syntax levels when translating the folk songs;the translator switches successfully in contexts such as intra-text cohesion and cultural communication so as to realize the communication between different languages and cultures;dynamic adaptation is employed throughout the whole translation process,and the translator also takes the audience’s time,space dimensions and differences in receptivity into account,and appropriately adopts the omission translation method to ensure that the translation can be accepted by the target readers.
