摘 要:《骨》是美国华裔女作家伍慧明的处女作,小说通过叙事者莱拉对整个家族史的回忆,讲述了一家三代华裔移民在美国的生存困境及其面对双重文化的奋斗史。本文采用扬•阿斯曼的文化记忆理论,通过主人公微观的个体记忆再现了华裔移美的集体记忆。具本从文化记忆的身份固化、重构能力、形构和反思性角度出发,分析了《骨》中三代人从身份固守、身份迷失、记忆屏蔽到最终超越差异的艰辛历程。本文认为,面对中西两种文化的矛盾冲突,主人公不是被动地妥协或消极地调和,而是以记忆为工具,建立了一种“他者”的超越人格,所代表的是“立足传统,走向世界”的美国华裔新形象。Bone is a debut novel by Fae Myenne Ng,a Chinese American woman writer,that,through Leila,the narrator,tells of the difficult survival in America of a family of Chinese migrants spanning three generations and of their history of struggle in a duo culture.Based on Jan Assmann's cultural memory,this article represents the collective memory of the Chinese migrants who moved to America through the protagonist's micro personalised memory,rendering an analysis of the difficult process in which the three generations in Bone move from fixated identity,lost identity and screened memory to finally transcend the difference,from the angles of fixated identity,reconstructed abilities,structure and reflexivity,with the view that,in the face of conflicts between Oriental and Occidental cultures,the protagonist relies on memory as a tool to establish a transcendental personality of'the Other’instead of resorting to passive submission or negative reconciliation,representing a new Chinese American image capable of moving towards the world while taking a strong foothold in tradition.
