摘　　要：人物意象是文学作品的中心,承载着原作的审美信息和意义。如何在翻译时再现人物意象特点、让读者感知并欣赏原作传递的信息和美感是译者的重任之一。乔丹·贝克是小说《了不起的盖茨比》中的新女性代表,个性鲜明,人物意象生动立体。本文从语音层、词语层和语句层对译本进行研究,探讨原文包含的审美信息以及如何在译文中将人物意象生动再现出来,以期拓展人物意象的翻译研究。Character image is the soul of the literary works,which conveys aesthetic information and meanings of source text.One of the important tasks of a translator is to properly represent the aesthetic properties and present them to the readers.Jordan Baker,as a new time’s woman,is one key vivid character image in The Great Gatsby with typical characters.The essay studies two translation versions,and discusses the aesthetic information in the novel and the ways to vividly represent the character image from the level of phonetic,diction and syntax to further the translation study of character image.
