摘 要:“东学西传”掀开了中国典籍进入西方世界的重要一页,理雅各为其先导者。他在文化传播上将“以意逆志”作为其恪守的重要译介总纲,强调在传播中要用当今学者之意“逆”典籍圣贤之“志”,诚心迎见原作的异质性;他还以治学思维伦理来运作经典传播,将学术性、批判性与译介释读相通约,以“我”之心会古人之心,求得对原典真义的真实阐释。同时,他在原典的诠释世界里,努力寻求译介传播的均衡,表现出哲学意义上的中立化色彩,展现了一个国外汉学家对中国文化元素的选择立场。这些为当今中国典籍传播方式的革新提供了借鉴。It is the dissemination of oriental learning that serves as an important role in the history of ushering in Chinese ancient cultural classics to the world.Guided by the general principle of“making thoughts meet the scope”,James Legge,apioneer in dissemination of culture,emphasized the faithfulness to the elements of Chinese culture of the source text expressed through inferring the scope of Chinese ancient sages.Furthermore,academic-oriented methodology was employed in his translation.Furthermore,academic-oriented methodology was employed in his translation.He integrated technicality and criticalness with translation exposition to understand the author’s thoughts and affection,so as to convey the true meaning of the original.Meanwhile,Legge made great efforts to weaken the differences between traditional Chinese culture and western Christianity to seek a balance or common ground between them,signifying his neutralization in philosophical sense in understanding and expounding ancient Chinese classics,which is beneficial to the transmission of Chinese culture.In the context of traditional Chinese culture“going global”,sinologists themselves,like Legge,serve as labels for the dissemination of Chinese culture.
