《史记·纣王本纪》英译中的选词准确性与填充法运用问题探赜

摘　　要：《史记·纣王本纪》中词汇丰富、复杂、表现力极强,叙述中存在大量使用同一汉语词语刻画出不同人物性格特点。词语的褒贬色彩亦较为多样,不仅使用了褒贬色彩分明的词语,亦使用了寓贬义于中性词甚至褒义词后的词语。同时存在相当多的文化负载词,于是怎样选词以忠实文意并展现其超凡的语言表现力,怎样避免文化负载词带来的阅读接受障碍,则成为英译时的难点与重点。而根据同一汉语词语在不同语境中使用时的不同意蕴选择不同的英语词汇,做到词性色彩的相通,采用填充法阐释文化负载词背后的内蕴,或对《纣王本纪》中的这类问题及中国传统经典的英译提供若干借鉴。Records of the Historian:the Historical Records of Yin Dynasty"records the rise and fall of Yin Dynasty,with major events lined in chronological order and the tyrannical rule of Emperor Zhou as an end.With an aim to reveal the causes behind the fall of Yin dynasty through a study of its changes of the past and the present,Sima qian selected several important cases of Emperor Zhou’s tyrannical rule and licentiousness that lead to the final destruction of this once-powerful dynasty,among which a plenty of culturally-loaded words and the same words that serve differently in different contexts are employed in the presentation of historical events and figures.These words,rich and expressive in the emotional and cultural implications,should be given particular attention to retain their artistic power in the translation.Through a detailed text reading,the paper is aimed to make a tentative study on accuracy of lexical selection and employment of filling-approach in the translation of culturally-loaded words in the translation of"the Historical Records of Emperor Zhou.
