摘 要:本文以21世纪争议不断的龙(Dragon)的英译风波为典型案例,以文化语言学理论的核心概念"文化意象"为基础,根据英语作为国际语的理念,从三个维度对龙的多重意象、中国英语的地位以及跨文化能力的本质进行新的解读,揭示作为国际语的中国英语在中国文化走出去进程中的重要作用。本文认为,作为语言教育中重要内容的文化翻译与跨文化能力培养,亟须以文化语言学的学科视角为引领,而教育者须充分认识文化意象、语言变体与文化传播的关系。文化语言学启示我们应当站到文化身份的更高层面来全面认识语言教育与跨文化能力,为推动文化交流而努力增强中国英语意识。Taking the prolonged controversy of the translation of "Dragon " since the beginning of 21st century as a typical example,the present paper,based on the core concept of "cultural image" in the theory of cultural linguistics,attempts to investigate the multiple-images of dragon,the position of China English and the nature of intercultural competence from a three-dimensional fresh angle in light of "English as an International Language"(EIL) and explores the important role of China English as a language for international communication in the process of going globally.This paper argues that as important contents of language education,culture translation and intercultural competence cultivation should be guided by the perspective of cultural linguistics and educators should fully understand the connection between cultural images,language varieties and cultural communication.Cultural linguistics enlightens us to comprehensively understand language education and crosscultural competence from a higher level of cultural identity,so as to actively enhance the awareness of China English for cultural communication.
