摘 要:阿普特"不可译"概念是国内世界文学与翻译研究最热门的关键词之一,然而除了被标签化使用,该概念的理论来源与历时进展少有人擘肌分理。当国内学界仍盘桓在本世纪初提出的"不可译"之说中时,阿普特近期已跨越本学科,在考察政治文化议题的现实中,提出了"修复性翻译"新论。此论迅速在国际学界引发热议。"不可译"与"修复性翻译"有机关联,历时性地考察两者,既可见阿普特构建翻译理论的四个阶段,亦可见阿普特翻译研究的承继性转向:早期重翻译政治研究,以翻译透视事件;近期重政治翻译研究,以事件反塑(包括修复)语言。转向过程不仅折射出交叉领域理论共生的可行性,还凸显出阿普特反单语、反霸权,倡多样、倡公正的人文精神与现实关切。Emily Apter’s concept of“Untranslatability”is one of the most popular keywords in World Literature studies and translation studies in China,while its theoretical resources and diachronic process have hardly been studied in depth.Proposed at the beginning of this century,the theory of“Untranslatability”is still hovering in our minds,whereas Apter has recently put forward a new theory of“Reparative Translation”in the context of interdisciplinary academic connection and realistic investigation of political and cultural issues,which has quickly aroused heated debate in the international academic circle.“Untranslatability”and“Reparative Translation”are a pair of theoretical concepts that are organically related.A historical study of them reveals four stages of Apter’s construction of translation theory and the succession of Apter’s translation studies.The transition process not only reflects the theoretical symbiosis of crossing fields,but also highlights Apter’s resistance to monolingualism and hegemonism,and advocacy for diversity and justice,which embodies her humanistic spirit and realistic concern.
