摘 要:越来越多的大学英语教师意识到了情感因素在英语教学中的重要地位,并把建立积极正面的师生关系作为完成教学任务的前提条件。研究者从英语教师的视角出发,通过倾听三名大学英语教师描述、解释和反思自己对师生关系的认识以及课堂内外与学生的相处之道,探讨了师生关系中教师面临的角色困惑。研究发现,是否应该愉悦学生、是否应该对学生的学习负责和是否应该设置师生边界是大学英语教师在建立和谐师生关系过程中面临的主要困惑。It has been acknowledged among an increasing number of English as a Second Language teachers that affective factors play a crucial role in foreign language teaching and learning.As one of the affective factors,teacher-student rapport is at the core of quality learning experience.This study involves three experienced ESL teachers reflecting on their own English teaching practices both inside and outside the classroom with an aim to find the dilemmas that they are faced with in attempts to build teacher-student rapport.The results of the study reveal the dilemmas fall into three categories,including whether or not to enter-tain students,whether or not to take responsibility for students as well as whether or not to set up boundaries with students.This study offers valuable implications for the role of teach-ers in teacher-student relationships in ESL classrooms.
