On Moral Imagination and the Aesthetic Direction of Moral Edification

摘  要:道德想象作为一种“创造性地发掘情境”和“移情投射”的道德心理活动,在道德行为选择、道德思维形成、道德信念培育中发挥着重要的作用。道德教育的实质性追求是实现对主体的德性教化,而传统道德认知模式的缺陷影响着德性教化的实效性,并阻滞德性教化的目标实现。改变积累式道德教化对道德知识的拘囿、伦理律法主义对规范或条文的执迷,需要在道德教育中激发创造想象的力量。发挥道德想象的积极能动作用是实现德性教化由“转知为智”、“转智为德”向“转德为美”跃升的重要途径。在道德教育中培育主体之德性,就是要使之拥有观照“人是目的”与“和谐秩序”的主动性,在德—善—美的再生循环中追求“美好”,从而实现德性教化“转德为美”的目标升华。道德想象启示德性教化的审美转向,经由美的定向——道德意义的形而上学建构,美的追寻——在道德想象中实现价值生成与创造,美的体验——在道德想象中开启价值体验的“心灵旅程”,臻入美境——在道德想象中敞开德性教化的道德关怀,从而指示着德性教化的审美实践。Moral imagination,a morally psychological activity that creatively develops situation and empathy projection,plays an important role in moral behavior selection,moral thinking development,and moral belief cultivation.Moral education essentially pursuits the moral edification of the subject,but the traditional mode of moral cognition has its defects,which affect the effectiveness of moral edification and hinder the achievement of its goals.To change the constraints of accumulated moral edification on moral knowledge,and the obsession of ethical legalism with norms or provisions,we need to stimulate creative imagination in moral education.Giving play to the active role of moral imagination is an important way to transform moral edification from"turning knowledge into wisdom"and"turning wisdom into virtue"to"turning morality into beauty."To cultivate the moral character of the subject in moral education is to make the subject actively follow the value orientation that"human beings are the purpose"and that"harmonious order is to be maintained,"and pursue"beauty"in the regenerative cycle of virtue,goodness and beauty so as to reach the goal of"turning virtue into beauty"in moral edification.Moral imagination enlightens the aesthetic shift of moral edification,and through the orientation of beauty,which refers to the metaphysical construction of moral meaning,the pursuit of beauty,which means value generation and creation in moral imagination,and the experience of beauty,which indicates the start of the"spiritual journey"for value experience in moral imagination,reaches the realm of beauty,which implies the moral concern over moral edification in moral imagination,thus indicating the aesthetic practice of moral edification.
