地方馆藏文物介绍的英译问题及其优化策略

摘　　要：以国内地方博物馆文物介绍的英译文本为研究对象,依照目的论的三大原则,基于Nvivo12数据与案例,对汉语源语文本和英语目标语文本进行对比分析。Nvivo12研究数据发现译文存在文化、语言及质量管控三大层面的问题,具体为文化漏译、文化误译、语义模糊、选词不当、专有名词英译未统一、语法错误、拼写错误、大小写不一致等。上述问题的存在,导致英语译文的总体质量较低,话语的流畅性及信息的透明性不足,中国文化核心信息难以通过英语加以有效传达,甚至自我制造了目标英语读者理解的陷阱。为解决上述问题,分别从三大层面提出对应的优化策略,具体细分为:博物馆应做好文物翻译项目管理工作、统一翻译的标准、聘请资深专家和专业译者、加强馆内人员的素质教育;译者应参考平行文本、灵活采用翻译方法等等。研究的意义在于为博物馆及相关政府管理部门文物英译的问题意识起到警醒的作用,也为英译文本质量的改善提供了一定的宝鉴措施。This paper takes the English translation of the profiles of antiques treasured in Chinese local museums as the research object and makes a comparative analysis between the source text and the targeted text in the light of the three rules of Skopos Theory.Statistics retrieved from Nvivo12 demonstrate that translation problems are mainly embodied in the cultural,language and quality inspection aspect,including cultural omission,cultural misinterpretation,semantic ambiguity,inappropriate choice of words,inconsistent translation of proper nouns,grammatical mistakes,inconsistency in capital and small letters and spelling mistakes.All of problems mentioned above lead to the low overall quality of the translation,inadequate transparency and fluency of the speech.Therefore,the core information of Chinese culture is hard to be effectively conveyed through English and it even sets understanding traps for the targeted readers.In order to improve the situation,optimized strategies are put forward accordingly from the three aspects.Specifically speaking,the local museums should do well in the management of antique translation programs,unify the standard of translation,hire senior experts and professional translators and strengthen the all-round education of the staff;the translator should refer to parallel texts and flexibly adopts all kinds of translation methods.The purpose of the paper lies in warning the museums and related department of the government to pay attention to the C-E translation of antiques.It will also offer some useful suggestions to improve the quality of the English translation.
