摘 要:北宋名臣赵抃有着大量的崇尚佛学的言行,《五灯会元》等一些佛教文献甚至把赵抃视为佛教中人,称作在家修行的居士。然而,赵抃家族世代业儒,赵抃也由儒学登科,走上仕途,是一个货真价实的儒士。如何看待赵抃的崇佛,南宋的道学宗主朱熹也曾有过困惑。不过,如果我们利用赵抃文集中的文献以及搜集到的赵抃散佚诗文,结合时代背景,考察赵抃的生平行历,来加以分析思考,还是可以对这一问题梳理出较为清晰的脉络的。从赵抃这一典型个案,不仅可以回答佛教在宋代有没有边缘化的问题,概观宋代士大夫的精神结构,更可以透视到在时代因素的作用下,从理学到道学的儒学演化过程中三教合一的趋势,以及社会转型的潜流。Zhao Bian,a famous official of the Northern Song dynasty,had said and done a lot to advocate for Buddhism.Some Buddhist works,such as the Wudeng huiyuan五灯会元,even regard him as a Buddhist and call him a householder who practiced at home.However,Zhao Bian's family had been engaged with Confucianism for generations,and Zhao Bian was a genuinely Confucian scholar who also had an official career through Confucianism.Even Zhu Xi,the patriarch of Daoxue of the Southern Song dynasty,was confused about how to treat the issue of Zhao Bian's reverence for Buddhism.However,if we make use of the materials of Zhao Bian's works,the collection of his anonymous poems,and the contemporary historical context,we can still sort out a clearer picture of this problem.Moreover,with such a typical case as Zhao Bian's,it is not only possible to answer the question of whether Buddhism was marginalized in the Song dynasty,but also to survey the spiritual structure of the scholars of the Song dynasty,and to see through the changing trend of Confucianism from Neo-Confuciansim to Taoism,and the undercurrent of social transformation under the influence of the times.
