Text Signals Improve Text Reading of Older Readers:Evidences from Eye Movement

摘　　要：通过两个实验探讨文章标记对老年人篇章阅读的影响及作用过程。实验1比较汉语老年和青年读者篇章阅读中对不同水平信息的加工发现,表层形式以及文本基础两个水平信息上老年人的辨别力显著低于青年人。实验2采用眼动记录技术考察文章标记的作用,发现宏观和微观标记分别提高了读者表层形式和文本基础信息的辨别力,影响了主题句和关键词加工。结果表明,文章标记通过改变老年人的阅读策略来促进表层形式和文本基础水平的信息加工,优化了阅读。Current study explores the effect of text signals on the text comprehension of the older adults and its mechanism.Experiment 1 compares the processing of different levels of information in the reading of Chinese elderly and young readers,and finds that the discernment of the elderly on the two levels of surface representation and text foundation is significantly lower than that of young people.Experiment 2 uses eye tracking technology to investigate the role of text signals,and finds that macro and micro signals improve the reader’s surface representation and the discernment of text basic information,respectively,and affect the processing of topic sentences and keywords.The results show that text signals optimize reading by changing the reading strategies of the elderly to promote the processing of information at the surface representation and text basis level.
