汉学家闵福德的翻译策略探赜——基于《鹿鼎记》英译本的个案考察

摘　　要：闵福德披荆斩棘,耗时十年有余,终完成金庸小说《鹿鼎记》的英译并出版。研究发现,闵福德多年来致力于传播中国文化,他之所以选择最具中国特色的武侠文学——《鹿鼎记》加以译介,是为了能给西方读者呈现“最好的中国”。在翻译过程中,他秉持文化传递和读者关怀的立场,通过改编文本结构、解构章回标题、直译武功招式、建构副文本等多样化翻译策略,成功跨越语言和文化障碍,实现了《鹿鼎记》的顺利“西游”,为中国武侠文学“走出去”并“走进去”做出了重要贡献。It took more than ten years for Minford to complete the English translation and publication of the book The Deer and the Cauldron written by Louis Cha.This paper finds that Minford has devoted himself to the dissemination of Chinese culture for many years.In order to present“the Best of China”to Western readers,he chose to translate The Deer and the Cauldron,the most distinctive martial arts literature with Chinese characteristics.In the process of translation,he holds the idea of transmitting culture and caring for readers.Through adapting the structure of the texts,deconstructing the meaning of the chapter headings,translating the martial arts moves literally and creating paratexts,he successfully overcame linguistic and cultural barriers and disseminated Chinese martial arts culture to the west,which makes significant contributions to the translation and dissemination of excellent Chinese martial arts literature.
