摘 要:为促进跨文化交流和中国文化走出国门,以纽马克翻译理论为指导,以《咬文嚼字》公布的2021年度十大网络流行语为语料,探究网络流行语的英译策略。研究发现,利用纽马克翻译理论中的语义翻译和交际翻译有助于探究网络流行语的英译策略。Internet catchwords are the reflection of social views and ideological tendency of the times,so their English translation is helpful to better participate in cross-cultural communication.Under the guidance of Newmark’s translation theory,this paper explores the English translation strategies of the top 10 Internet catchwords of 2021 published in Yao Wen Jiao Zi.The study finds that both Newmark’s semantic translation and communicative translation methods contribute to the English translation of these catchwords.It is of great significance to study its English translation strategies for cross-cultural communication and Chinese culture going out.
