摘 要:专业学位是不同于学术学位的一种新型研究生教育类型,人才培养模式仍在探索过程中。虽然教指委给出若干完成专业学位的形式选择,但学位论文至今仍是培养过程中的必要和核心环节,另一方面,对专业学位论文的理论性要求相对较低,强调其应用性。把握好二者间的尺度,应注意三点:首先,学位论文的理论水平是一项综合要求,须置于完整的研究中才能加以判断;其次,社会科学形成了多种理论范式,理论场域的“丛林”为研究者提供了理论选择和理论对话的可能;最后,不同学科在处理研究的理论性与经验性关系上有不同的取向,专业学位论文与学术学位论文之间并不存在一条清晰可辨的边界,为专业学位研究生留下较大的自由行动空间。Different from academic degree,professional degree has its own legitimacy and emphases.Nevertheless,appropriate model is to be explored for professional education.Although Chinese authority gives multiple ways to final achievement,dissertation is overwhelmingly expected as dominant achievement for a professional degree.Roughly speaking,academic dissertations emphasize theory while professional dissertations emphasize application.But it is hard to practice the rule.I propose three arguments.First,theoretical requirement is comprehensive and can only be judged in whole research process and content instead of specific criteria.Second,quite a few theoretical paradigms have been developed in addition to empirical paradigm.Researchers can choose appropriate theoretical elements and have theoretical dialogue for its own sake.Third,specific discipline in social sciences has its own theory or practice emphases.In conclusion,there is no clear-cut distinction for academic and professional dissertations,graduate students of professional degree have free space to act.
