摘 要:翻译中必然存在语言符号的意指移位现象。以符号学理论为观照,翻译中的符号意指移位可归因于符号能指、符号所指与符号解释者的共同作用。本文以霍克思英译《离骚》为例,描写了译诗中的意指移位现象,并结合翻译语境分析其类型、原因及翻译效果。文章认为,霍译《离骚》中存在四类典型的意指移位,涉及音韵修辞、句法补充、意象传达、词义选择四个方面,其翻译效果有好有差、不一而论。诗歌译者应根据翻译语境,运用恰当的意指移位策略来提升文本效果,并尽量避免无意的文化误读,从而推动中西文化和诗学交流。The significance shift of linguistic sign is a necessary existence in translation.From the perspective of semiotics,the significance shift of linguistic sign in translation can be attributed to the combined action of signifier,signified and interpreter.Taking David Hawkes'English translation of Li Sao(On Encountering Trouble)as an example,this paper describes the significance shifts in the translated poems,and analyzes their types,causes and translation effects in their contexts.It is held that there are four kinds of typical significance shifts in the translated poems,involving such aspects as phonological rhetoric,syntactic supplement,image transmission and semantic choice,and presenting various translation effects.It is suggested that poetry translators should choose appropriate means of significance shift in different translation contexts to improve the textual effect;at the same time,inadvertent cultural misreading should be avoided to promote the cultural and poetic communication between China and the West.
