摘  要:孟子性善论试图打通天道与人道、真与善、外在环境与内在自我之间的鸿沟。此宏大的理论抱负集中体现为三大伦理使命:(一)人性存在论确立人性的本体根据,断定人性是人人生而固有的先天之心;(二)人性价值论肯定人性善是人性先天具有的、源自“四心”的道德价值,是不受任何外在因素影响的内在善,是人之为人的内在价值;(三)人性方法论主张人性善的实践程序是天道通过君子实践人道,也就是说,君子秉承天道,自觉地保持善、追求善、彰显善。孟子性善论既有其生命力与合理性,亦有其不足之处。其伦理使命的当下践行,尚需注入新的时代要素。Mencius’doctrine of the innate goodness of human nature seeks to bridge the gaps between the Way of Heaven and the Way of Humanity,truth and goodness,as well as the external environment and the inner self.This grand theoretical ambition is concentrated in three ethical missions:(1)The ontology of human nature establishes the ontological basis of human nature,asserting that human nature is an innate mind inherent in everyone from birth;(2)The value theory of human nature affirms that the goodness of human nature is an inherent moral value originating from the“Four Beginnings,”a goodness that is intrinsic and unaffected by external factors,thus representing the intrinsic value of being human;(3)The methodology of human nature advocates that the practice of human goodness is a process where the Way of Heaven is realized through the actions of the virtuous person,which means that the virtuous person,in accordance with the Way of Heaven,consciously maintains,pursues,and manifests goodness.While Mencius’doctrine possesses vitality and rationality,it also has its limitations.To effectively carry out its ethical missions in the present day,it needs to be infused with new elements relevant to the contemporary era.
