基于可比语料库的中国《政府工作报告》英译本词汇特征研究  

A Comparable Corpus-Based Study on Lexical Features in the English Translated Version of Report on the Work of the Government

摘　　要：本文自建可比语料库,借助在线兰卡斯特统计工具和AntConc,以2021至2023年中国《政府工作报告》英译本子库为目标语料库,以同期美国《国情咨文》子库为参照语料库,通过与上三年《政府工作报告》英译本历时比较及两子库共时比较,探讨目标语料库的词汇特征。结果表明,历时来看,一是我国政治文献的英译水平大幅提升,《政府工作报告》英译本理解难度适中,越来越为国外受众所接受;二是主题词变化显著,政府工作重心转移;三是情态词量值整体下移,表明我国政府更有信心、更有把握实现第二个百年奋斗目标。共时来看,一是《政府工作报告》英译本名词化程度高,文体特征正式;二是其体现的国家和民族整体性意志强,是党同人民群众的智慧结晶。Based on the self-built comparable corpus,using Lancaster Stats Tools online and AntConc,the article takes the English version of Report on the Work of the Government from 2021 to 2023 as target corpus,State of the Union message at the same time as reference corpus to explore lexical features of the former,via diachronic and synchronic comparison.Diachronically the results show,firstly the past three years witness the great improvement on the level of Chinese-English translation of political documents,in detail the readability of the English version of Report on the Work of the Government is improved,making its meaning more accessible to audiences abroad.Secondly,a remarkable change in the use of subject terms indicates a shift of focuses of the government work in China.Thirdly,value of modal expressions declines as a whole,which proposes that confidently and assuredly,we begin a new journey toward the second centenary goal of building a modern socialist country in all respects.Synchronically,more frequent use of nominalization,a sign of formal text features.Additionally,as a wisdom crystallization of the Party and the people,the English version of Report on the Work of the Government strongly reflects the common will of China and its individuals.
