摘 要:现实主义儒者荀子重新评估人性,认为现实人性具有两种取向:既向善,又趋恶。他是现实人性有善有恶论者,而不能笼统地称之为“性恶论者”。他没有以理想主义儒者孟子性善论的性善论为敌,只强调孟子性善论与现实人性不在一个层次。鉴于现实人性有两种取向,荀子不赞成单纯倡导仁政,主张用礼义对治恶,实行王霸兼施策略。董仲舒顺着荀子的思路,主张阳儒阴法,促使传统社会政治生态的形成。荀子的政治哲学智慧影响深远,一直到当代。Xunzi,a realist Confucian scholar,reappraised human nature,thinking that it has two tendencies:an inclination towards goodness and a propensity for evil.He is a theorist who argued for goodness and evil in human nature,rather than a general evil theorist.He did not oppose the idealist Confucian Mencius’theory of good nature;instead he emphasized that Mencius’theory is not on the same level as the reality of human nature.In view of the dual tendencies of human nature,Xunzi did not support simply advocate benevolent governance but advocated for the use of etiquette and justice to counter act evil,implementing a kingly and hegemonic strategy.Following Xunzi’s line of thought,Dong Zhongshu advocated the combination of Confucianism and legalism,which promoted the formation of traditional social-political ecology.Xunzi’s political philosophy wisdom has had a profound and listing influence,extending to contemporary times.
