《兄弟》中叙事意象的翻译研究

摘　　要：余华的长篇小说《兄弟》隐藏着寓意深刻的意象,如旅行袋、海鸟、大海、永久牌自行车等。其英译本在处理这些意象时,不仅采取了保留意象为主的直译翻译方法,也在兼顾语言表达习惯和文章主题时,采取了意译的翻译方法。直译与意译的搭配使用,使英译本再现了原文中意象所营造的氛围和传达的主题,收到了良好的翻译效果。Yu Hua’s novel Brothers is rich with profound imageries,such as the travel bag,the seabird,the sea and the“Forever”brand bicycle.In its English version,the approach to these imageries involves not only a literal translation method that primarily preserves the imagery,but also a free translation method that considers language expression habits and the overall theme of the work.The combination of literal and free translation allows the English version to recreate the atmosphere and convey the themes embodied by the imageries in the original context,thereby achieving a successful translation outcome.
