摘　　要：英语紧缩词是一种比较特殊的词 ,由于有些词组或短语的使用频率较高 ,单词又长 ,人们在使用时常常省略其中某些部分 ,紧缩后构成一个新的组合。但这种新的组合必须在约定成俗时 ,才能成为词汇系统中的新词。本文就英语紧缩词的产生、种类。Blends are a group of special words. There are some words, which are quite long and frequently used. People often omit some letters when using them, so new words-blends come into being. But those words are added in vocabulary only when most people accept them. In this essay, the origin, kinds, and structure of blends are researched.
