摘　　要：江泽民同志在十六大报告中将"促进人的全面发展"正式确定为全面建设小康社会的奋斗目标之一.江泽民同志"人的全面发展"思想是其一贯倡导的素质教育思想在国民教育层面的延续和发展.要实现"人的全面发展",成人高等教育责无旁贷,由于成人高等教育具有大众性、职业性和终身性等特点,在实践"人的全面发展"工作中占有比普通教育更重要的地位.Boosting People's All-round Development', one o f the objective of building a well-off society in an all-round way has formally be en set in Com rade Jing Zemin's report delivered at the 16th National Congress of the Communis t Party of China. Comrade Jing Zemin's thought of “People's all-round developmen t ' is the continuity and development of the national educational system which is always advocated in his thought of quality-oriented education. There is no shrin king the responsibility to the realization of “people's all-round development ' in adult higher education. Characterised by popularity, occupation and being lif elong, adult higher education occupies a more important place in the implem entation of “people's all-round development' than the ordinary education.
