摘　　要：在梳理中西翻译史上有关异化的概念和分歧的基础上,论证在全球化和跨文化背景下异化翻译在处理文化差异时所具有的优势,指出异化将成为当代翻译的必然选择,并就"异化尺度"的把握原则提出了自己的看法。The paper makes a theoretical exploration of the alienation in translation. It reviews the literature on the definition and controversy about alienation, argues that alienation in translation has a number of advantages over adaptation in that it is more faithful to the original work, retains more of its exotic color and provides more satisfaction to the readers' expectation, especially under the circumstances of globalization. Finally the paper discusses about the principles a translator should observe in handling alienation in translation.
