摘 要:名词性标记是一种词汇衔接手段,在语篇生成过程中起着重要作用。它有别于其他衔接机制,在篇章中既体现概念意义,又传达程序信息。文章依据关联理论的框架,对英语名词标记的类型与特征进行分析和评述,旨在说明:此种衔接手段能够构思图式、策划语篇,具有很强的篇章组织功能。同时,名词性标记对外语教学也具有实践意义,它能使学习者从一个新的角度去把握词义,观照和理解语篇。Nominal groups can serve as a cohesive device for text construction. Apart from conceptual meanings, they also possess procedural information, which makes them different from other lexical devices. Based on the framework of Relevance Theory, this paper analyses the properties of nominal groups and the functions they perform in text organization. It argues that nominal groups as schematic and strategic vocabulary have great cohesive strength for text organization and coherence. The paper also discusses the pedagogic significance of nominal groups which can shed some light on text analysis and understanding.
