摘　　要：中国古典诗歌是中国文化的重要组成部分,也是中国文化对外传播的重要载体。本论文立足于翻译三层次的理论基础,采用译本对比分析的研究方法,对诗人李白的诗歌《玉阶怨》的许译本、庞译本的意象翻译进行分析总结,旨在揭示一部分中国古典诗歌意象的翻译原则和策略,并探讨译者如何在译本中应用这些策略,从而更好地传播中国文化。研究发现:第一、两种译本都采用了丰富的意象翻译策略。第二、许译本和庞译本各有千秋,但在意象翻译策略的使用上不尽相同。第三、许、庞译本在中外都有着不俗的影响力,但相较之下,庞译本的传播程度会更加广泛,这与意象翻译策略的应用有着密切联系。本研究表明:诗歌意象翻译策略的总结,对未来的诗歌翻译实践有着深远的指导意义。同时,它也为诗歌翻译相关理论的完善起到了一定的推动作用。Chinese classical poetry is an important carrier of Chinese culture for its transmission to the world. Based on the theory of the “three levels of translation”, this thesis adopts the comparative analysis method to analyze the English versions of two famous translators (Xu Yuanchong and Ezra Pound) of Li Bai’s poem, “Yujieyuan”. By analyzing the different renderings in poetic images, the paper will unveil a part of the translation principles and methods in images of classical Chinese poetry and figure out how the translators apply these strategies in their translations so as to better spread Chinese culture. The findings are as follows: Firstly, two kinds of versions are full of image translation strategies. Secondly, Xu’s rendering and Pound’s version have their own strengths, but they use some disparate image translation methods. Thirdly, Xu’s and Pound’s versions have great influence both at home and abroad, but Pound’s translation is more popular. It is closely related to the application of image translation strategies. This thesis shows that the summary of poetry image translation strategies has profound guidance for future poetry translation practice. Also, it plays a certain role in promoting the perfection of poetry translation theories.
