摘　　要：本文以多元系统论为框架，描述和解释中国的翻译研究这种文化现象，并对其未来发展作一些初步的建议和预测。长期以来，中国的翻译研究处于中国文化的边缘，却自成体系。八十年代以来，西方的“一级”理论推动了文化转向，令翻译研究逐步走向中心，其“二级”理论则进入中国翻译研究系统的中心，并把后者带进了世界翻译研究多元系统的边缘。我们如要让中国的翻译研究走向世界的中心，须借鉴西方经验，并且减少权力和意识形态系统的制约。Using Polysystem theory as a framework, this article attempts to describe, explain and predict Chinese translation studies as a cultural phenomenon. While primary translation theories in the West effected a cultural turn and pushed translation studies towards the centre since the 1980s, its secondary theories moved into the centre of Chinese translation studies and brought the latter into the periphery of the world system.
