摘　　要：翻译策略是译者根据翻译情境所做出的选择。通过对杨宪益《红楼梦》委婉语的翻译可以看出,通过直译和直译加注的异化法翻译方法方法最大限度地保留和传达原语文化特色。Translation Strategy is the choice a translator made in a given situation. Excerpting euphemisms from the English version by Yang Xianyi,the thesis explores the translation strategies of euphemisms. He employs and draws a conclusion that such forms of foreignization as literal translation and literal translation with footnotes will well preserve and convey the distinct culture of source language.
