摘　　要：阅读理解是语言文字的学习和使用过程,也是读者就已有的情景知识和相关知识的运用和处理过程。传统阅读教学理论和实践存在一些不足,在新形势下大学英语阅读教学要运用现代阅读理论,激发学生的阅读兴趣,培养学生的基本语言知识能力;强化文化背景知识;培养语篇知识、推断和预测能力,以达到最佳阅读效果。Reading comprehension is the course of studying and using the language character. It is also the course of reader＇s application and treatment of existing situational knowledge and relevant knowledge. The traditional teaching theory and practice on reading comprehension have some weak points. Under the new situation, reading comprehension teaching in college English should use modem reading theory, stimulate students＇ interest of reading, train students＇ basic language knowledge ability, strengthen cultural background, train the passage knowledge, inference and calculation ability, in order to get the best reading affection.
