摘　　要：在科技交流日益频繁的活动中，外来语正源源不断地流向中国，这些概念新颖，意义独特的词汇正在融入各学科的汉语之中。本文旨在研究医用汉语中的外来语，通过Hymes（1972）语言作为社会的一个基本概念的理论，从人种志（Ethnography）的角度，来揭示借用外来语对医用汉语语言的影响，以及它们在医用汉语中的作用。Foreign words are on their way to China during the increasing activities of scientific and technological exchanges. These words novel in concept and unique in meaning are fusing into various disciplines of the Chinese language. The paper aims to study the foreign words in medical Chinese based on Hymes＇s theory on language as a basic social concept, and from the ethnographic perspective, to reveal the effects and role of borrowed foreign words upon medical Chinese.
