公示语英译中的语用关联分析

摘　　要：公示语的使用范围极广,涉及到环境、交通、旅游、建筑等诸多领域。作为一种特殊的应用文体,公示语主要用来传递某种特定的信息,以唤起人们的注意,或向人们提出某种要求。鉴于此,公示语的翻译也应该突出信息焦点,并通过语用关联来实现应有的交际意图。该文运用关联理论、语用翻译等理论观点,通过对大量译例的详细分析与评述,就汉英公示语翻译中的语用规律进行多方位的探讨,为汉英公示语的翻译寻求可资借鉴的对策与方法。Public signs are widely used in all walks of life to convey important information, draw attention or impose requirements. Chinese public signs, like public signs in any other language, are a distinctive applied style. As such,their English translation should highlight the implied information or the intentions. In the light of this, we analyzed the pragmatic aspect of Chinese public signs and illustrated how they should he translated into English, aiming to reveal their pragmatic features by the Relevance Theory. In order to explore the rules for the translation of public signs, the authors have also discussed, among other things, such translation methods and approaches as foreignization and domestication, semantic and pragmatic equivalence so us to have the purpose of translation met.
