美国终身教授制对我国高校激励机制的启示

摘　　要：美国高校的终身教授制度是教师队伍建设的一项卓有成效的制度。它可以使教师们坚持科学真理,产生创新思想,潜心学术研究,形成百花齐放、百家争鸣的局面;它结束了学校对教师无限期续聘的不利做法,得以吸引和保留一流的教师,并促进年轻教师的成长;它有利于高校打造学校的品牌,提高学校的地位,招收优秀的学生,赢得社会的资助。这一激励机制,对我国高校仍具有重要的启示作用。This paper discusses the origin and idea of the American system of tenured professor, the relevant principle and selection and incentive mechanism as well as its strong and weak points and its enlightenment to the incentive mechanism of Chinese higher institutions.
