摘 要:高校校名的变更体现在层次、学科、地域和类型四个方面,并呈现出累进性特点。高校之所以进行累进性更名是因为校名能有效传递本学校的基本信息,累进性更名可提高学校在高校中的结构性网络位置并促进学校更好地生存和发展。高校累进性更名反映了高校间竞争关系的存在、高等教育评价机制不完备以及国家对教育符号资源的控制,它同时也启发我们,只有根植于本土文化的竞争才是最有效的竞争。Higher institutions change their names in four aspects., level, discipline, district and type, which show a characteristic of progressiveness. The reason why higher institutions rename themselves is that institution name can effectively express its basic message, and progressive renaming can raise their status in the structural network of higher institutions and better their being and development in the future. And progressive renaming reflects the competition between higher institutions, the imperfect evaluation system of higher education and the state's control over educational symbol resource. It also indicates that the most effective competition is rooted in the native culture.
