摘　　要：歇后语表层的字面意义和深层的蕴含意义,分别指示着不同语言交际现象的外延和内涵。在做汉英翻译时,歇后语的意义诠释需要兼顾表里,结合翻译中的语境、语体和语用因素,综合权衡,区别对待,灵活做出选择和判断,以达到循名责实,成功地进行歇后语英译的目的。The meaning of the Chinese folk wisecracks on its surface level and the connotative meaning on its deep level respectively indicate the extension and intension of the language communication. In Chinese-English translation, the meaning interpretation of the Chinese folk wisecracks requires translator to the consider the denotative meaning and the connotative meaning, to combine with the context, style and pragmatic factors, comprehensively and respectively for the translator to make a flexible and feasible choice and judgement so that the translator can probe the content by the denotation to fulfill the task of successful Chinese-English translation.
