武侠小说翻译中的故事性与可读性——以《书剑恩仇录》英译本为例

摘　　要：武侠小说是一种集娱乐性和故事性于一体的通俗文学体裁,同时它又深深植根于中国文化传统。为了便于读者理解和接受,译者在翻译的过程中,必须充分考虑突出故事性和强调可读性这两个问题。《书剑恩仇录》英译者采用了编译结合、章节重组、以表代注、意译为主等翻译策略,从而实现了故事性与可读性的统一。Successful translation of Martial Arts novels, which are a special genre of the Chinese pop literature with an emphasis on entertainment, depends on whether the translator can get the stories out and rewrite them in a language that is natural and transparent to the target reader. Taking the English version of Louis Cha＇s The Book and the Sword as an example, this paper elaborates on the efforts made by the translator in terms of story - telling and readability.
