高等院校开设英语选修课的研究与实践

摘　　要：以吉林农业大学一至三年级学生为研究对象,采用抽样调查方法研究了高等院校开设英语选修课的必要性及学生对英语选修课课程内容的要求。研究表明:高等院校开设英语选修课对调动学生学习英语的兴趣、带动课堂教学、提高英语综合能力起了重要作用;大多数学生希望开设高级听说和影视欣赏课程,而要求开设语法和科技英语课程的人数较少。Subjects included freshmen, sophomore and junior in Jilin Agricultural University. By sampling survey method, we study the necessity and requirements of course contents of offering English elective course in institutions of higher education. The result has showed that it is necessary to offer English eleetive courses, which plays a great importanee in eultivating students＇ interest, promoting classroom teaching and increasing students＇ comprehensive ability in English. The study has also showed that most students hope to offer advanced listening and speaking and film appreciation, but a small number of students hope to offer grammar and English of science and technology.
