摘　　要：元认知包括三个部分:元认知知识,元认知体验和元认知监控。元认知可为学生第二语言习得提供有效规划监控和评价。掌握元认知策略能加速语言知识技能内化。This paper first states the basic concept of meta -cognition and meta- cognition strategies, then discus- ses the function of meta - cognition, the development of the meta - cognition awareness and the application of the meta - cognition strategies in second language acquisition; at last it concludes that the proper use of meta- cogni- tion strategies in foreign language teaching can improve the efficiency of second language acquisition.
