摘　　要：翻译单位的研究由来已久,其研究对翻译教学、翻译批评和翻译实践都有十分重要的影响。翻译单位究竟是什么,研究者们意见并不一致。而翻译单位是一个变化的动态的系统,其选择受如下因素的影响,如文本类型、文本体裁、文本目的,译者主体性,译者对语言及文本的掌握,目标读者,源语和译语间差异等等。只有在具体情况下对翻译单位进行研究,才有实践和理论上的指导意义。本研究旨在对科技英语句式进行意群分析,指出以意群为翻译单位来指导科技英语汉译的可行性和行之有效的汉译策略。The unit of translation is very important concept in translation theory.It bears great significance in the fields of translation practice,translation teaching and translation criticism.However,although over the years the translation theorists have made so many elaborations about it from many perspectives,this issue remains disputable.This paper holds that the translation unit is a diversified and mutually complementary system,and the selection of UT is affected by many factors,such as the relatedness between the source language and the target language,the subject,the text type,the function of the text,the intended readers,the translator＇s understanding of the text,the translator＇s source language and target language proficiency,etc.Only if the study of UT is put in specific circumstances can it truly direct translation practice and promote the development of translation theory.
