On the Reading Curriculum at the Basic Stage of English-Major Undergraduate Program:A Postmodern Perspective

摘　　要：本文首先回顾后现代知识观和教育目的观的基础上,探讨了后现代课程的基本特征及其在外语教学理论上的集中体现。然后,从后现代视角分析现阶段我国英语专业本科基础阶段阅读课程在课程目标、阅读材料选择及教学方法上存在的问题,并提出今后可能的改革方向。Based on a brief review of postmodern concepts of knowledge and aims of education,this paper first discusses the basic characteristics of postmodern curriculum and one of their typical manifestations in foreign（second） language education theories.Then,from a postmodern perspective,the paper examines the present English-major reading curriculum in the first half of the four-year undergraduate programs in China,and tentatively suggests some possible future changes concerning the reading curriculum objectives,reading materials and teaching methods.
