摘  要:The cultural gap has always been a hard nut for professional translators to crack. This article discusses how to bridge this gap in translation in the classroom teaching background. By probing into some problems from practical communication, it puts forwards 3 possible measures to tackle cross-cultural translation, i. e., tracing the original meaning of the source language, interpreting its symbolic meaning (connotatino), trying to find a corresponding equivalent in target language. Based on these measures, it further advances 4 approaches to practical translation, i. e. literal translation; substitution, paraphrase and transliteration. It also offers some samples to illustrate each approach. The cultural gap has always been a hard nut for professional translators to crack The following scenario from a Chinese background is a good example to indicate how it interferes with communication between people from different cultures.文化差距始终是翻译转换中的一道难题。本文讨论了在英语课堂教学背景下的文化翻译问题,对怎样跨越语言教学中的英汉文化差距,培养学生良好的语感和实际翻译表达能力提出了笔者的见解。作者提出了课堂教学中解决跨文化翻译的3点措施:1.追溯源语的本义;2.解释其象征意义(涵义);3.找出对应的目标语。基于上述3点措施,进而提出翻译课堂教学的4种方法:直译法;置换法,阐释法和音译法,并对每一方法提供了具体的翻译实例。
