摘 要:Among the four basic skills, writing remains the weakest point for college students in China, and has always been a great headache for their teachers. This article points out the two potential causes for the phenomenon: one is pedagogical and the other psychological. To overcome both pedagogical and psychological blocks, a theme-based process-teaching model with activities reflecting five teaching principles has been created on the basis of three hypotheses. The two-year study shows that this model not only helps students improve their writing proficiency but also their integrated ability through taking responsibility for their own learning during the process.在英语听、说、读、写四项基本技能中,写作是中国大学生最大的、令大学英语教师头疼的弱点。文章指出,这种现象的存在主要是课程教学和心理上的原因所致。为改变这种局面,本文作者阐述了三大假设、五项原则,论证了以主题为中心的大学英语课程新设计方案。历时两年的实践表明,以主题为中心、以学习者自主为特色、融多项技能为一体的过程写作教学新设计不仅有助于大学生英语写作能力、而且有益于综合能力的全面提高。
