摘  要:笔者结合翻译古镇周庄的体会,探讨功能翻译理论在指导旅游文本英译中的应用。中文旅游文本有两大特征,一为文化信息丰富,二为语言华丽、喜用修辞。译者应当充分考虑到预期读者的文化背景,尤其是他们撰写和阅读旅游文本的习惯。本文以古镇周庄翻译任务为例,试图为旅游文本英译提供一种翻译策略,以期提高翻译质量和工作效率。With the author's own experience of translating Zhouzhuang Ancient Town,this dissertation probes into the C-E translation of tourist brochures under the guide of the functional theories of translation.Chinese tourist brochures have two main characteristics.One is that they are intensively loaded with cultural information,and the other is that they tend to be flowery in language,using all sorts of rhetorical devices.The translator should produce target texts coherent with foreign tourists' cultural background,especially with their writing tradition of tourist brochures.Based on the practice of translating Zhouzhuang Ancient Town,the dissertation attempts to offer translation strategies to help improve translation quality and efficiency.
