基于网络和语料库的“中原经济区”英译探讨

摘　　要：通过搜索引擎,调查了国内外网络、杂志等媒体对"中原经济区"一词的英译情况。通过对检索结果进行定量和定性分析,验证了"the Central Plains Economic Region"的可接受性。同时根据Bell的理论,建议选用更容易识记的右叉结构"the Economic Region of the Central Plains(of China)"作为"中原经济区"的英译对应词。The paper surveys the the English translation of＂ Central Plains Economic Region＂ in many famous websites and magazines home and abroad by using search engines. Through quantitative and qualitative analysis of the search results, the acceptability of ＂Central Plains Economic Region＂ has been verified. According to Bell＇ s theory, it＇ s suggested that the right-branching structure be used as the English equivalent, i. e. ＂the Economic Region of the Central Plains （ of China） ＂ in that this structure is easier to memorize.
