通识教育背景下大学英语教学的展望

摘　　要：目前,大学英语教学面临着课时被不断削减、教学效率被质疑等种种困境,而通识教育可以为此提供一个较好的解决方案。通识教育作为一种教育理念,已逐渐为我国教育界所接受和认同,并成为我国高等教育改革的一个重要发展方向。大学英语教学和通识教育的目标是相辅相成的,二者结合是大势所趋。大学英语应该成为通识教育的重要内容和有效平台,而通识教育也将有助于大学英语教学走出目前的困境。College English teaching is now faced with the harsh situation of class hours being reduced and teaching efficiency being doubted.The author claims that general education will provide a possible solution to college English teaching.General education is an education theory increasingly accepted by Chinese education scholars and has been a significant direction of higher education reform in our country.College English education and general education are interweaved with each other in their goals.Combination of college English education with general education is a trend of times.College English education should be an important part and efficient platform of general education and general education will help to lead college English teaching out of the present dilemma.
