摘 要:本研究使用E-Prime程序的在线语法判断任务考察中国非英语专业英语学习者对高频非习语英语程式语的心理表征,研究结果支持程式语整体表征假说。主要发现是:(1)尽管大学四级组已完成两年大学英语课程并且通过了英语四级考试,但其与新生组在学习年限上的差异并未导致其程式语心理表征上的显著差异,这很可能表明在中国的外语学习环境下,程式语心理表征发展很缓慢或大学英语教学对程式语重视不够。(2)中国英语学习者、在美国的英语作为第二语言学习者和英语本族语者间的比较表明:整体表征现象存在于三种不同英语水平的人群,只是存在加工时间的快慢差异;就受试语言水平而言,随着语言水平越高,加工的时间越短,错误率更低;与本族语者相比,中国英语学习者对程式语的加工要使用约多一倍的时间。(3)不同性别的中国英语学习者在程式语加工的反应时间和错误率上没有表现出显著差异。This study,through online grammaticality judgment tasks of the E-Prime programme,investigates the mental representation of high frequency non-idiomatic English formulaic expressions by Chinese English learners whose subjects are not English.The results of the investigation provide prevailing evidence in support of the hypothesis of holistic mental representation of formulaic expressions.Among the major findings are:(1)the Band 4Group who have had two-year college English instruction and have passed the Chinese National College English Test(Band 4)exhibit no significant difference from the Freshman Group in reaction time and error rate,suggesting that the mental representation of formulaic expressions has developed very slowly in an EFL context or that not enough importance has been attached to such expressions in the two-year English instruction;(2) Chinese English learners use twice the amount of time native English speakers use in processing such expressions;(3)there is no significant difference between the male and female participants in reaction time and error rate.
