摘　　要：教师发展在很大程度上取决于教师生长的环境,在组织形式上从传统的训导模式转向以合作为基础的教师实践共同体。对国内英语教师专业发展机制的典型案例研究表明,以社会文化理论为基础的实践共同体对青年教师的成长影响深远,合作互动的优秀教师群体是英语教育改革成败的关键。Teacher development is heavily dependent on teachers＇ growing environment. In its institutional form of teacher development, there is a tendency from ＂coaching and training model＂ to ＂cooperative model＂ in which community of practice （COP） is advocated and highlighted. This paper focuses on related concepts and basic theoretical foundations of CoP, followed by in-depth discussion of two typical cases of English teacher development groups. It is concluded that the interactive and cooperative teacher group is the key to English teaching reform.
