公示语英译错误分析及应对策略——以哈尔滨市为例

摘　　要：随着中西文化交流的逐渐增多,全国各大城市都已意识到双语或多语公示语的必要性和重要性。然而由于诸多原因,许多地方的译文错误已经造成了不懂中文的外国人士的信息障碍,其中英译错误最为明显。基于此,以黑龙江省哈尔滨市为例,搜集其英译公示语的相关材料,剖析此类翻译中存在的问题,并根据国家或国际有关法规及交际翻译原理,提出修改意见,指出翻译过程中文化意识的重要性。With the increasing communication between Chinese culture and westem culture, all the cities in our country have real- ized the necessity and importance of bilingual or multilingual public signs. However, for various reasons, the translation mistakes in many regions, especially the English translation mistakes, cause some information barrier to foreigners who have no knowledge of Chi- nese. Therefore, this paper takes Harbin, Heilongjiang Province as an example, collects relevant English translation materials of public signs, analyzes the problems, and proposes suggestions according to national of international rules and communicative translation prin- ciples, pointing out the importance of cultural awareness in the translation process.
