摘　　要：终身教育思想是当代一种国际性的教育思潮，我国的自学考试教育则是“终身教育”思想特点的充分体现。根据终身教育思想的内涵和特点，就自学考试教学定位的必要性、可行性进行了一定探索。：Lifetime education has become one of major mainstreams internationally involved in the civilian education. By the way, based on the arduous exploration conducted for many years, the system of self-education examination has set up its position in China's civilian education systems, especially in the fields of open education. On the very early start of new era, and in the high waves of the intelligence or knowledge economy influence on it, however, the system now faces some urgent challenges to make the way for its grand development in the near future. For the sake of this, the paper takes a comprehensive discussion on the role of self-education examination in terms of the lifetime education systems and the feasible ways for its further development under the new conditions through the education innovation.
