摘  要:综合英语,作为专业英语的主干课,尽管丰富了学生的语言知识,提高了他们的应试能力,但是现行的教学模式对于学生语言能力的提高并没有明显的促进作用。要实现学生语言知识向语言能力的转化,必须实施以学生为主体的交际化教学模式。为此,教师要更新观念,围绕学生语言能力的培养而组织课堂教学,还要对教材进行适当调整,灵活运用,以使教学内容适应交际化教学。当然,学生课外语言实践是提高口语能力的决定因素。Comprehensive English, as a key course of the English majors,has for sure enriched their knowledge and helped pass the exams. However,this course should have done more to improve the stu-dents' ability of using the language,especially their oral capacity.The dominant role of the students,there-fore,should be emphasized in order to offer more chances for the students,rather than the teachers,to prac-tise.Accordingly,teachers should arrange their classroom teaching around this purpose and necessarily ad-just the textbooks in order that they will be more suitable for communication.It goes without saying that the last decisive factor of all is the efforts of the students themselves.
