摘　　要：词义演变是所有语言共有的现象,一直是语言学家关注的中心议题之一。同普通词汇一样,法律词汇也经历着语义演变。论文在概述英汉法律词汇特征的基础上,探讨法律词汇语义演变方式,并从认知语言学的角度诠释了其语义演变的隐喻和转喻认知机制。Pervasive in all languages,lexical semantic change has always been one of the central issues among linguists.The phenomenon of lexical semantic change exists not only in common words but also in legal ones. Based on summarizing the features of English and Chinese legal words,the paper discusses the ways and the metaphor and metonymy mechanisms of their semantic change in English and Chinese legal words from the perspective of cognitive linguistics.
